Walking in Donegal
Jackson’s Hotel is situated right beside the Drumboe woods where daily walking tours can be arranged. The Drumboe Woods offers a relaxing riverside walk, on which you pass the ruins of the old Drumboe Castle.

Trusk Lough which boasts its own shore walks round the Lough and also its gravel path walk, which suits all abilities from a short stroll to a grand 4-hour hike.
The Bluestack Way beginning in Donegal Town this National Waymarked Walk brings the walker through the Bluestack Mountains on little used tracks. The walk is 47km long, with another 63km interconnecting paths and walkways.
Bealach na Gaeltachta, is a set of long distance walking routes in Donegal which have been developed to the standard of a National Waymarked Way. The long distance walking route is made up of four circular routes, three of which are interlinked. Each route is between 50-70km in length and encompasses mountain, riverside, seaside and finest habitats. The scenery is spectacular and walkers have the opportunity to sample the uniqueness of the Irish language and Donegal culture.
The Sliabh Liag (Slieve League) Peninsula, with its unique mix of breathtaking coastal scenery, rugged hills and stone-age archaeology, must be one of the most interesting walking areas in Europe.
