Donegal Town Summer Festival
This years Festival will be held over a four day period from Thursday July 1st until Sunday July 4th and will feature some of Ireland’s top bands and the best of home grown talent. Here is a rundown of the festival programme so far.
The festivities will commence on Thursday evening July 1st with the official opening and a traditional Irish night.
On Friday July 2nd, the town will be treated to the fantastic tunes of the ‘Smash Hits’ an extraordinary 90‘s cover band from Dublin with a large following. They are one of the country’s best cover bands playing to huge crowds at every gig, they are sure to put on a very memorable performance.
Saturday July 3rd will be a fun-filled day for kid‘s of all ages . There will be face painting, live circus acts, a fancy dress disco, bouncy castles, slides and much more for all to enjoy on the Diamond. Later in the evening, one of the countries biggest upcoming bands the Delorentos will take to the main stage playing some of their biggest hits such as S.E.C.R.E.T.S, Do You Realise, Neon and many more. They will be followed on stage by one of Irelands Biggest bands the Republic of Loose, an amazing night of music is guaranteed.
The Fun does not stop there, on Sunday July 4th, one of the most exciting new groups to hit the Irish music scene ’John Shelly and the Creatures’ will play the main stage. This band are best known for their song ‘Long May You Reign’ which features on the discover Northern Ireland Advertisement. As if that wasn’t enough one of Irelands biggest and most loved Groups the ‘Saw Doctors’ will rock the Diamond, with hits like N17, I Used To Love Her , and The Joyce Country Ceili Band, they will certainly give the festival the finish it deserves .

Alongside all the fantastic music acts, the festival will be jam packed with numerous fun-filled activities for all ages. We will have the annual duck race, the Eske windscreen go-kart grand prix, the seafood competition and the “It’s a Barman’s Knockout” competition, to name but a few.
