Ballyliffin Golf Club is Ireland's most 'northerly' club was founded in 1947. The Ballyliffin Golf Course is famous for its par 3 fifth hole. This newly designed Glashedy (Craddock and Ruddy) links course provides the average golfer with a very fair test of abilty amid the rolling sand dunes and spectacular scenery of the Inishowen Peninsula. The par 3 seventh hole is played from the top of the sand dune to a green guarded by bunkers on three sides and a lake on the other. Bundoran Golf Club was founded in 1894 and was originally designed by an ancient course designer GL Ballie. The first President of the Club was the Duke of Abercorn. The course was re-designed by six times British Open Champion in 1927. The great Christy O'Conor was professional at Bundoran from 1951to 1957.
