River Finn

The River Finn runs right past Jackson’s back door where rooms that over looks the river can be requested. It’s the ideal location for the more serious angler as it has plentiful supply especially from March to May of Salmon. The famous Salmon Leap at Cloghan is a must see for visitors.

Lough Mourne, Ballybofey

Lough Mourne is an impressive looking stretch of water between Ballybofey and Donegal.

Trusk Lough, Ballybofey

Trusk Lough Trusk is 3 miles south of Ballybofey. The trout there average half pound and you might be lucky and get one up to three quarter pound.

Lough Golagh, Ballybofey

Lough Golagh has a nice stock of good trout averaging three quarter pound, with some to nearly 3 pounds. The banks are difficult to fish in places, but at some points it is possible to wade.

Lough Barderg

Lough Barderg is short distance to the east. The fish here are somewhat bigger, but are difficult to rise. Croaghadalough is a short walk to the south of Lough Golagh. It holds good quality trout with many in the 1pound class. Again they are slow to take, but it is worth a try and you will fish it all the way around in an hour.
